Privacy Policy

CostHex is operated by Louerable, Inc., a company based in Delaware, United States (“CostHex”, “we”). This policy explains what we collect when you use costhex.com and the CostHex service, and what we do with it. Questions or requests: hello@costhex.com.

What we collect

• Waitlist. Your email address, the platforms you tick, and the page you came from.
• Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe, which acts as merchant of record. We receive the checkout reference, your email, the amount, currency and payment status. We never see your card details.
• Monitoring. When you connect a cloud account: the account identifier, the API token or role you grant, the usage figures we read (such as requests and CPU time per resource), our cost estimates, and the incidents and alerts we generate.
• Alert destinations. The Slack or Discord webhook, Telegram chat, or email address you ask us to alert.
• Site analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across sites. We do not set cookies.
• Request data. Like any website, our host Cloudflare processes IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the site.

How we protect credentials

API tokens and alert destinations are encrypted before they are stored, each with its own key, and are never shown again after you submit them. We ask for read-only access unless you turn on a feature that needs more, and we tell you which permission each feature uses.

How we use it

• To run the service: read usage, detect spend spikes, and send you alerts.
• To email you about early access, your account and service changes. You can unsubscribe from anything that isn’t about your account or an incident.
• To process payments, prevent abuse, and keep the service secure.

We do not sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

Who processes it for us

• Cloudflare: hosting, database, email sending and site analytics.
• Stripe: payments, as merchant of record under its own privacy policy.
• Slack, Discord, Telegram or your email provider: only the ones you choose, and only the alert content sent to them.

How long we keep it

• Waitlist entries: until you ask us to remove them or we stop the waitlist.
• Hourly usage history: up to about 13 months.
• Alert delivery logs: 90 days.
• Credentials and alert destinations: until you disconnect them or ask us to delete them.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to stop emailing you, by writing to hello@costhex.com. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or California law) you may have further rights, including to object to processing and to complain to a regulator. We process data to provide the service you asked for, for our legitimate interest in running and securing it, and with your consent for the waitlist.

Where it is processed

Our providers process data in the United States and in other countries where they operate.

Children

CostHex is a tool for developers and businesses and is not meant for anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above, and email you first if the change is significant.
